Maryborough is home to one of Victoria’s premier Harness Racing tracks. We trial regularly here at Maryborough and aim to give every participant the best possible opportunity to compete at their best in the sport of Harness Racing.

Track Open Times:

The Main track is open 7 days (Unless otherwise advertised) from Daylight to Dark. We recommend that you visit our Facebook page or contact the Club to confirm the if the track is available prior to attending.

Our track maintenance takes place for approximately 2 hours which will result in closure of the track.

For track preparation the Main track will close one day prior to a racemeeting at 3:00pm.

All tracks and horse stalls are closed on Raceday.

The Main track is also closed 12 hours prior to the first trial on our trial days (Trials usually held either Saturday or Sunday).

Training at MHRC

Prior to training at our facility all trainers must return a signed copy of our Trainers Handbook acknowledging that they understand the safety requirements of the track.

Any trainer working any horse at any time on the track must provide a spotter (minimum of 16 years or a holder of a stablehand licence) to supervise whilst on the track.

Fees

Full members of the Club have their training fee included in their annual membership subscription.

For visiting trainers:

• Once off Session fee - $25.00

• Regular training use of the track for 12 months - $250.00

Visiting trainers - Booking your session

Visiting trainers need to contact the Club prior to their training session to arrange use of the facility.

The Club will then be able to provide a copy of our Trainers Handbook which needs to be returned, signed, prior to the training session.

Payment of the session fee is required prior to the training session.
